And during this week of love, I think we need the

People all over the world (everybody)
Join hands (join)
Start a love train, love train
People all over the world (all the world, now)
Join hands (love ride)
Start a love train (love ride), love train

The next stop that we make will be soon
Tell all the folks in Russia, and China, too
Don't you know that it's time to get on board
And let this train keep on riding, riding on through
Well, well

People all over the world (you don't need no money)
Join hands (come on)
Start a love train, love train (don't need no ticket, come on)
People all over the world (Join in, ride this train)
Join in (Ride this train, y'all)
Start a love train (Come on, train), love train

All of you brothers over in Africa
Tell all the folks in Egypt, and Israel, too
Please don't miss this train at the station
'Cause if you miss it, I feel sorry, sorry for you
Well

People all over the world (Sisters and brothers)
Join hands (join, come on)
Start a love train (ride this train, y'all), love train (Come on)
People all over the world (Don't need no tickets)
Join hands (come on, ride)
Start a love train, love train

Ride, let it ride
Let it ride
Let it ride
People, ain't no war
People all over the world (on this train)
Join in (ride the train)
Start a love train, love train (ride the train, y'all)
People all over the world (come on)
Join hands (you can ride or stand, yeah)
Start a love train, love train (makin' love)
People all over the world ('round the world, y'all)
Join hands (come on)
Start a love train, love train!

"Love Train" is a song by Kenny **** and Leon Huff that was a hit record for The O'Jays.
Released in 1973, it reached #1 on both the R&B and the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
It was The O'Jays' first and only #1 record in the U.S.

Not as many are aware of this pioneering gospel singer, songwriter and recording artist as should be...IMHO!
But she achieved great popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with a unique mixture of spiritual lyrics and early rock accompaniment...yes, I said "rock!" She became the first great recording star of Gospel music, surfacing on the pop charts with her 1938 original composition "This Train."

Now, I'm not sure I have the lyrics just right because these are different from her other recordings, so listen and help me out, please!! Anyway, I really, really like this version, and I hope you enjoy it, too!

This Train
by Sister Rosetta Tharpe

This train is a free train
This train
This train is a free train
This train
This train is a free tain
Everybody ride it in Jesus' name
This train is a free train
This train

This train have left the station
This train
This train have left the station
This train
This train have left the station
This train takes on every nation
This train is a free train
This train

She travels straight to the upper most
This train
She travels straight to the upper most
This train
She travels straight to the upper most
Nothing can ride her, but the blood-washed host
Because this train is a free train
This train

This train don't pull no gamblers
This train
This train don't pull no gamblers
This train
This train don't pull no gamblers
No four-day's creeper, no midnight rambler
Because this train is a free
This train

This train don't pull no liars,
This train
This train don't pull no liars,
This train
This train don't pull no liars, no false pretenders, and no back-biter
Because this train is a free train
This train!!

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail,
Hippity hoppity,
Easter's on its way

Bringin' ev'ry girl and boy
A basketful of Easter joy
Things to make your Easter
Bright and gay

He's got jelly beans for Tommy
Colored eggs for sister Sue
There's an orchid for your mommy
And an Easter bonnet too. Oh!

Here' comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail
Hippity hoppity
Happy Easter Day

Look at him hop and listen to him say,
"Try to do the things you should"
Maybe if you're extra good
He'll roll lots of Easter eggs your way

You'll wake up on Easter morning
And you'll know that he was there
When you find those choc'late bunnies
That he's hiding ev'rywhere, Oh!

Here' comes Peter Cottontail
Hoppin' down the bunny trail

Hippity Hoppity, Happy Easter Day!

"That sign has me all mixed up as to where we are

But if you know any "stars"

Maybe they'll give us some chocolate bars!"

"M-O-T-H-E-R"

M is for the million things she gave me

O means only that she's growing old

T is for the tears were shed to save me

H is for her heart of purest gold

E is for her eyes with love-light shining

R means right and right she'll always be

Put them all together they spell "MOTHER"

A word that means the world to me.

my.homewithgod.com/pkbutterfly/mymotherlyrics.html

Oh dear Mother,
It's still hard to believe you've gone away.
But you're here in my heart
With me everyday,
And in my heart you'll always stay!

"The Leader of the Band"

Oh Papa, I still miss you so very much
And Papa, I don't think I said, 'I love you' near enough!

Rest In Peace dear Daddy and Dan too!  Cry

Kicking off our anniversary week with a little Neil Young song...

"Train Of Love"

Train of love
Racing from heart to heart
Running late
Still in the lonely part
This train will never run me down
But only take me where I'm bound
It's part of me and part of you
I'll always be a part of you

Sail along, sail along silver moon
Don't be blue
Throw shadows in my room
I know in time we'll meet again
We come and go that way, my friend
It's part of me and part of you
I'll always be a part of you

"To love and honor
'til death do us part"
Repeat after me
This train is never going back
When the lonesome whistle blows
No one knows, no one knows

Train of love, Train of love
Train of love, Train of love
It's part of me, it's part of you
Train of love!

Uh, excuse me ma'ams,
but as I was looking around
I didn't see one of my songs
On this side of Coffee town!

Now, it is almost
Valentine's Day
And they say
I do know a thing or two
About this thing called love
And I reckon that's true!

"Won't you wear my ring around your neck
To tell the world I'm yours, by heck
Let them see your love for me
And let them see by the ring around your neck!"
  Wink

In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the Easter Parade.

I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,

I'll be the proudest fellow in the Easter Parade.

On the avenue, Fifth Avenue, the photographers will snap us,

And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.

Oh, I could write a sonnet about your Easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the Easter Parade.

April love is for the very young

Every star's a wishing star that shines for you

April love is all the seven wonders
One little kiss can tell you this is true!

Sometimes an April day will suddenly bring showers
Rain to grow the flowers for her first bouquet

But April love can slip right through your fingers
So if she's the one don't let her run away!!

"April Love" by Pat Boone, circa 1957
